San Francisco Dog
San Francisco Dog: Carrot, Cucumber and Radish Salad with Herb Mayonnaise
Inspired by the incredible farms and restaurants around the Bay Area, this little salad topping is refreshing and beautiful. The green-flecked mayo adds a touch of richness.
Ingredients
Hot Dogs
- 1 package Applegate Organics® The Great Organic Uncured Beef Hot Dog™ Brand
- 1 package hot dog buns, toasted
- ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro leaves
Herb Mayonnaise
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup finely chopped mixed fresh herbs, such as basil, mint, cilantro, parsley, chives, and tarragon
Carrot, Cucumber, and Radish Salad
- 4 radishes, trimmed
- 2 small Persian cucumbers
- 1 carrot, peeled
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
Hot Dogs
- Grill the hot dogs to desired doneness.
- Spread some of the herb mayonnaise on each toasted bun.
- Arrange a hot dog in each bun and top with some of the salad.
- Garnish each hot dog with a few mint and cilantro leaves.
Herb Mayonnaise
- Stir together the mayonnaise and chopped herbs in a small bowl until well combined.
- Refrigerate, tightly wrapped, until ready to use.
Carrot, Cucumber, and Radish Salad
- Using a mandolin, slice the radishes very thinly.
- Transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Slice the cucumbers and carrot very thinly lengthwise on the mandolin and transfer to the bowl with the radishes.
- Toss the vegetables with the oil and vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste.
